With backgrounds spanning across the building industry, public sector, global consulting and major blue-chip organisations, they utilise industry best practice with their knowledge and experience to deliver the levels of service today’s clients demand whether you’re looking to buy, rent or sell in Newton-le-Willows and the surrounding areas.
Their introductions are below to give you a snapshot of their backgrounds and a little about them as individuals.
Richard is a co-director of the business. He has been buying, developing and managing property for over 30 years.
After an early career as a pilot in the RAF Richard worked as a Director at PwC global management consultancy supporting clients to grow and improve their business. Richard subsequently moved to the Property Division of the Co-op Group as Programme Manager.
Richard moved to the property arm of Royal Mail Plc where he was responsible for improving the purchase and maintenance of the Royal Mail property portfolio. This was followed by a Director role at global property group Balfour Beatty Plc.
Richard owns his own portfolio of properties and is professionally qualified with a Cranfield MBA and membership of a number of professional Institutions. He is also an associate consultant of the University of Cumbria supporting small businesses and Trustee of a property group pension fund.
In his spare time, Richard enjoys yoga and has qualified as a yoga teacher. He also has a passion for classic American cars.
Paul is a co-director of New Brooklands. Following an early career within the Greater Manchester Police, Paul moved into construction finance, raising funds for property developers in the South of England.
He later started his own construction firm, building houses in Leek, Wigan and Newton-le-Willows. He was responsible for the refurbishment of many Newton-le-Willows properties, including the former High Street garage into three shops and a restaurant, now known as the Forts of India.
As a long-standing resident of Newton-le-Willows and an estate agent for a number of years, Paul knows where and when many of the local buildings and houses originated, a large number of which he has built. His property knowledge in this area is unequal to that of any other local estate agent making him a major asset to the business and its clients.
Following a period living in Portugal, where he built villas and refurbished and operated a restaurant, Paul now owns the Millstone Pub. He is a fully trained Michelin chef and cooks in the evenings at his tapas restaurant at the Millstone Pub.
Linda’s background is in Management Consulting, working in the global consultancies PwC and KPMG for major client organisations both in the UK and overseas. In addition she has held several HR and IT project management roles in Littlewoods and the Co-op Group. In her latest role as a Senior Business Consultant for a niche consultancy, she conducted a strategic and operational review of the IT, HR, Finance, Legal and Project functions of a leading North West Housing Association for its Executive Board of Directors.
A PRINCE2 (project management) and Six Sigma (business improvement) practitioner, Linda also holds a number of qualifications with professional institutions including MoR and ACA. Bringing 30 years of business experience, Linda is responsible for the operational side of the New Brooklands business.
In her leisure time, Linda enjoys drawing and painting. She is an accomplished artist, coming from a family of talented artists and having had an interest in art as far back as she can remember. She specialises in painting wildlife and animal portraits using pastels and has some work of her work registered with the Fine Art Guild.
